I'm one for one this year. Yesterday, l Just finished getting the boat ready to launch (Hammond), climbed in the driver's seat and a guy with a boat pulled in, passed me and backed down the ramp ahead of me. I snapped this photo with my camera. Look closely, notice driver's side door open, you can see a guy at the stern and another guy on the port side at the back of the boat. These guys are the strap removers. There was another guy (not seen) transferring gear from vehicle to the boat.

Sure the ramp is double-wide, but I prefer to launch port side to the courtesy dock. (It's a mirror thing, plus I usually am launching by myself so I like to be on the same side as the dock so I don't have to crawl over the trailer tongue.)
Doesn't matter. Pulling in and stopping on the ramp to ready the boat is just RUDE. Happens frequently.

Couple other things - if you blow up the picture you can plainly see the boat's registration number display is incorrect. There's no IL, IN or any other state code shown. I assume he's from IL (maybe transplanted from Michigan) since his front license plate reads "SPARTAN".

When you launch early under the cover of darkness the odds of encountering these types is greatly diminished.

I usually experience this more on the way out of the water with the late start crowd.
Greg ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :woohoo:

Almost as bad as the people who pull their boat out of the water and decide to put on the cover on and block the ramp when their is a line up of people waiting. You would think that it would be obvious to pull out of the way and not block the ramp but some people just don't seem to have common sense. Ive actually seen people get physical with others over this nonsense.

Mike
I had a little talk with this guy on Sunday when I came in. He couldn't dock the boat and almost hit my boat twice.
I asked him if he was a new boater and he didn't reply. When one of his crew went to get the trailer he pulled in front of someone that was waiting to back down the ramp.

Usually up in ludington around labor day weekend. We sometimes just sit at the ramp in the evening when all the boats come in...amazing some of the things you see

I really think we should try to post a sign at the Launch's to help reduce this ignorance
