Actually, it wasn't stolen, but if you looked in my pole barn it looks like someone needed the trailer worse than the boat.
I needed to do some minor repairs easier done here than at the marina so I jacked up the boat and yanked the trailer out from under it. Sort of a scary procedure. Gotta love the magic of hydraulics.

If you find any mushrooms in there call me lol.
Good time of the year to do it.

Did that a couple summers ago when I wanted to haul a couple sea kayaks and canoes to South Carolina. Pulled the trailer out from under the boat and build a temporary rack on the trailer. Worked super!

Just realized the photo didn't attach. Got the work done this morning and the trailer reinstalled. Lot easier with a fork lift and other tools than trying to do it all in the parking lot at the marina crawling around on the asphalt.

Very nice BN! Don’t take this the wrong way please. I have an idea for one of your articles. Look up Power One hull cleaner and test the product on the scum line. It’s an amazing product that I use and it’s truly nearly effortless. Many of us fishermen use our boats as tools to get onto the water so we neglect the fact that Lake Mich harbors are dirty and stain our hulls. My bet is that product would make the hull look brand new with little effort.

I work to keep the inside of the boat clean and shiny, the outside, not so much since by the time the people get there, the boat is floating and has been scummed up.
This is a good tip for the magazine. Couple questions. Where do you buy it? I saw it on Amazon, it's quite pricey at $20 per quart. Is it concentrate so you mix with water or do you use it straight? I see it's touted to be a rust remover. Much de-rust products are acid based. Do you need to wear rubber gloves? Other comments or info on its use?

It is pricey but it’s meant to be a once or twice a year deal to clean it up. It definately has some level of acid and I wore gloves. I pour it into a spray bottle and have another with water. Spray it on a section and let it sit a few minutes. Wipe it off then spray the water and dry. It’s not as harsh as zing but does a great job. A buddy of mine has been using it for a few years and it hasn’t shown any negative side effects on his hull. He has a 37’ go fast boat and the quart gets his cleaned with a little left over. I picked up a ski boat this winter to restore and the bottom was pretty dirty. This stuff cleaned it right up with much less elbow grease than I expected. I picked mine up on Amazon also.
