For those who dont know, Ron Linder co founder of In-Fisherman and brother to Al Linder, passed away Monday at 86. I learned a lot about multi-species fishing reading their magazine. He lived doing what he loved and will be missed. RIP Ron.

Surprised I hadn't heard this through my normal news feeds. Ron was a giant in the fishing industry. I've met him several times over the years, never had the chance to fish with him, but he was real and as good a listener as he was a teacher.

Ron was a giant as a human being. I had the pleasure to know and worship the Lord with Ron. Many don't know, but Ron had a prison ministry that had him in jails and prisons across the Midwest 2-3 times per week for many years. He spoke with candor and clarity of his battle with alcohol and how the blessing of success in business gave him a pulpit from which to serve God. And serve he did, with humility, energy and, most of all, urgency. He stood before every group as a broken sinner, redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ and called to make disciples of every man. He lived this with a conviction that was humbling to experience.

And now, he has heard from God, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." I hope and pray to stand before that same God and hear those same words.
