How does everyone feel about Crown Point, or say Merrillville. We have people from IL to MI so it seems like a nice waypoint. I can organize something if enough people are interested. Would be great to see everyone and meet new faces :)

Too bad I've attained the age where I know my boundaries. Otherwise, I'd be recruiting a team to head west. Great Trip!

I've actually been thinking of a trip to one of those "floating lodge" places in BC, but I'll be flying not driving if it ever comes to pass. You always have to be thinking forward.....

Timing is everything on the kings Mike and they are all native run fish at Rivers Inlet. We were fishing as far into the inlet as was allowed in July 1988. There's a large square sign on the shoreline and once the fish pass the sign they are home free and no fishing is allowed beyond that point.
There was only one fly in floating lodge in the area we fished (Bucks) but I'm sure there are multiple lodges now. Only a handful of aluminum boats in the area from the lodge. Our kings averaged mid 40s to mid 50s and all 4 of us brought one home over 50 lbs. The largest still weighed 63 lbs when we were back home in Indiana. I think they may be promoting more catch and release fishing now.
