I'm glad someone mentioned the "ugly cooler photo contest" in the thread started by todd1966hoffer in the Salmon, Steelies, Lakers category. Since 2020 is over, I guess it's time to announce the winner. But rather than just pick the sole winner, I'll let you guys and gals pick the best of the three contenders I selected from the ones I saved last season.  I have a "favorite" but let me know which one you think is the "worst."  

I will say it must have had some impact since the submissions over the course of the season seemed to decline. Not that people weren't still fishing, catching and posting, but they were taking the time to take photos which were better looking and did a better job of displaying both the unhappy fish and the happy angler.  

So take a look and post your pick.  I didn't save the name or Southender "handle" of who took these photos so I have no idea of who posted any of them. Also, I'm not trying to "dis" any particular individual. This "contest" was conducted strictly for fun. Once the winner is declared, I'll send them a prize worthy of their effort if they own up to the photo being theirs.  Perhaps an ugly lure, half a spool of line and a past issue of Great Lakes Angler magazine.

These entries are OK but if you're going to win the 2021 contest, a few tips:

Make sure to have poor lighting

Don't remove any crumpled up beer cans, Monster energy drinks, cigarette butts, etc from the cooler beforehand

Don't drain any bloody water from the cooler, or if you do, take the pic when the fish are stiff from rigor mortis

Don't frame up the cooler square in the picture - angled is best. And don't tilt your phone landscape, just take a vertical picture of a horizontal object

Smudgy camera lens helps too

Bonus points if the cooler is on a hot parking lot or in a dim garage
