Have been fighting my dip net for several years. Would like to get one with a extendable  handle and big enough for salmon but could be used for walleyes and bass. Lures tangle in the one i have now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Unfortunately we all have this challenge. For early coho's I use a small all rubber net which works great, but for the bigger fish I still have a big net on board.  Treble hooks are a problem unless the fish is pinned with all three. The honest to god best solution is to go with all single hooks on your baits (maybe).  I dont have the wherewithall  to try that but have the hooks, just havent done it.  Best bet is to get at least a rubber coated nylon net (it helps some).  I have a few of these:  www.fishusa.com/Beckman-Coated-Net?gclid...UnsMR9RoCQSEQAvD_BwE

They work good - but hooks wound up in nets still happens.  Get em out fast and its less of a problem.

 I use Ranger nets on my boat. They have a system that you buy the net of your choice and then you can buy different hoops and net bags that will meet your other needs. You switch out hoops on you extendable handle. Like Jeff was saying about the all rubber net, it is my choice for the coho. I use rubber coated netting for the larger kings and trout. I also step up in hoop size. Made in Michigan Rangers are a good value. You can call them directly and the owner  answers the phone and you can buy right from them. He can customize one for you.

Beckman rubber coated has helped out a ton. Cohos like the size they are now I usually just hand line them up the side of the boat.

We've  used Cumings nets for decades. We swap the handle out for a Beckman handle but the stock handle works fine..  We have both the rubber coated poly and straight poly bags and the coating helps but is still tough to untangle body baits with multiple treble hooks.  Best to have a designated rubber Coho net early in the season as they like to spin in the net. The bigger nets work well when using spoons and if you roll the fish out of the net as soon as you land it you can avoid most tangles.  That said, we always carry two nets just in case we have tangle problems and multiple fish on. 

I absolutely love my RS net,  I use the Kelly Island model.  They're not light,  but neither am I. They are built like tanks and will hold up to use and abuse.
