Many of you know I write a Gear Review column for Great Lakes Angler magazine. It's a simple concept, I obtain new or interesting items I think Great Lakes fishermen would find useful, give them a try and write my impressions of how well they perform in the "real world." Not every product I try out "makes the cut." Some are worthless, some don't measure up in some other way. Some companies are eager to basically get "free advertising," others are reluctant.
Gill Fishing - a British company with a strong "sailing" influence in the UK - has been one of my best supporters and I've written reviews of many of their products - all of which have proven to have excellent craftmanship and have stood up to all the use and abuse I've subjected to them. No "made in China" stuff from them.
Recently, they have offered my "readers" the opportunity to purchase anything from their website:
www.gillfishing.com at a 10% discount. Check it out and if you purchase anything use the code - CAPTMIKE10 - at checkout.
If you would like to see the reviews of the specific Gill products I've used and reviewed go to:
www.fishgear.reviews. Scroll down or check the menu if you wish, or look for the three dots at the upper left of the start page and select the search icon (magnifying glass) and search for the 8 different Gill product reviews at this sight.
The stuff I use the most is the Langland Hoodie, Winter Angler Jacket and Bibs and the the Voyager 10L Duffle.
