:cheer: It is a priviledge to announce that member Steelie Don has been nominated Travel Ambassador for our site!!!!!!

Don travels a very long way to fish with us. What we have in our backyard, Don drives 5+ hours to get to. Thats a love and dedication for this sport that needs to be admired. I'm glad to call Don a good friend, and have had the chance to meet his wife, and his son Dan.

Don has always taken time to post many times on the board, wether it be a good trip up or bad, and wether its fishing or hunting Don is involved. We thank you for your time and energy that you have dedicated to the site. I know you have made alot of friends up here Mr. Travel Ambassador Steelie Don.

Thanks guys you don't know much I like being a part of this organization. You are right Ed I do love this fishing you all have up there. I still consider myself a newb but with all the help and advice from the experienced membership I have come a long way in my quest to catch the big 5. Bob, Ed, Jeff, Rick, Mike, and Raven Mike, and Steve thanks for your help and letting me fit in up there. I enjoy talking to you guys on the water and on the phone. I hope to get to know more of you.
To you new members or those who looking to get started in the sport look to this web site and the senior members. They will help you get started. Promoting the fishing up here is the best way to keep it alive. More interest results in more money for the fishery. I will help anybody with questions about fishing down in southern Indiana and the Kentucky and Barkley Lake areas. These are good places to fish and usually safer!! But you won't hear a screaming reel or a see a fish leap 4 or 5 feet in the air, or have your equipment ripped apart during a fish fight. That is why I drive 5 hours one way to fish with you guys.

Mr. Ambassador, Don do you have any idea how many miles you have logged in traveling back and forth?

I don't want to know. Catherine might get wind of it and it will cost me some how. She will come up with that age old dity about "Wouldn't be cheaper to just go to the store and buy a can of salmon". I have been making 5 or 6 trips a year for the last three years and the previous 2 years I was chartering 3 times a year. Those were the tough years. One of those charter trips took 3 trips up there to complete. Bad waves, engine failure sent us back home with nothing but a gas bill. After we actually got to fish I said enough of this and I bought a boat. I have been glad that I did but knowing what I know now I would have bought a different boat. Those empty trips nearly ruined my boys on coming up there and I was paying for every thing. All they had to do is ride and sleep. Still I vowed to carry on the quest and keep coming up and you know what ? I still love the anticipation of coming up there wondering if this trip will be the one where we knock 'em dead in my boat.
