Loomis street launch, right at the lakefront. 8 lanes, big parking lot, cleaning station, great facility. Have to use a pay station which is kinda a pain, but otherwise great facility.
There's also a launch in PM lake, but I'd recommend Loomis street.
Places to stay...there are many independently run motels in town. Be prepared that many will be sold out, and they'll be pricey for a weekend in august.
We stay at the nova motel when we go up, it's not the Hilton by any means, but adequate to lay your head down and get a shower. They also have plenty of space for boat parking, freezer space, and a cleaning area as well.
Good luck, it's a great town for a weekend of fishing. If the wind blows, plenty of suds in the downtown area!!
