Hi
To all
I was the head mechanic at Cabela’s for over ten years and decided it was in my best intrest to part ways with them. As far as motor work is concerned I will be happy to help and provide service with any Mercury or Yamaha products as well as normal boat maintenance , Iam now working at Pine Crest Marine in Ceder Lake Indiana.

I assume the Bass Pro transition may have been a factor. I hope everything works out great for you! Maybe you rigged my boat when I bought it in 2012 - was a 386XF.

Yep - you guys did a good job and I had no complaints. A few "minor issues" but Tom made sure they were taken care of.

Good luck with Fays.
Terpstras in Griffith has a good reputation.
I know a few that had serious issues with Fays.
Thats all I'm saying..

I have heard the same about Terpstras also unfortunately and I saw something recently that the one good mechanic they had is gone now. Calumet Marine needs to become a Alumacraft/Yamaha dealer!!

don't think thats going to happen any time soon
but thank you all for your kind words
our Goals are simple :
> HAVE FUN
>TREAT PEOPLE HOW WE WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED
.> DO THE BEST WE CAN ONE JOB AT A TIME
> DELIVER ON THE PROMISE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK

We are just a small place and have no aspirations of being The Biggest or the fanciest
Quality service and quality products give us and our customers the least head akes and the most FUN
After all the fish are always going to cheaper in the supermarket sea food department
Some customers recognize the value in a small mom and pop family business some need a big box store with lots of stuff to look at
Some manufacturers recognize the value of a dealer thats focus is on fun and customer service not just volume sales
some manufacturers are easy to deal with a some are not
we expect our vendors to be partners with the same customer service priorities
in the mid west here a boat motor package should give us a lot of extra years of service with out being a burden
Parts should be reasonably priced and readily available
We often need one boat at a time and can't take truck loads often
we need to deliver a great bang for the buck because thats what we want when we go some where for sales or service

BECAUSE ITS ALL ABOUT THE FUN!!!!!!

I bought my boat from Cabela's in Hammond, absolute horrible customer service from them. Terry promised the moon (lies). I never got any one to answer questions or the phone, never got my fire extinguisher that came with the boat. Every time I went in there they acted like I was bothering them. My next boat will not be bought from a box store. I have been dealing with Fays so far they are good. But I haven't had any real issues with my boat beside the fact they had it rigged with the incorrect propeller and the tach was set to the wrong pole. Johnny ruined a good store.

BRP/ Evinrude new owners of Alumacraft

one thing for sure in the boat / marine industry is CHANGE

lets sit back and see what BRP does with alumacraft they make some great motors and are buying up some premium boat companies to put them on I suppose this seems to be the trend in the boating industry Lately

change can be good but not always hope it works out for every one involved including past customers
