Join us for 2 great fishing events in Indiana on February 17th.   First will be the annual Hoosier Coho Club Fish Tales & Tackle Sales Swap Meet from 9AM to 1PM central time at the LaPorte County Fairgrounds.  Then head on down to the Great Lakes Salmon Initiative's 2nd Annual Indiana Great Lakes Fishery Meeting from 2PM to 5PM central time at the Miller Chapter, Izaak Walton League of America in Portage Indiana.  You will get to hear from and speak directly with the fisheries researchers and biologists who manage our Great Lakes fishery.   The GLSI is providing free pizza so we have lunch covered.  Drinks are available for purchase at Izaak Walton League bar on site. All the details for both events are included in the event listings here.  There is also a Bass Pro Shops superstore nearby if you want to stop there for some gear to end the day.   For our Michigan members, this would be a fun road trip to get some deals, get your questions answered about our fishery and get ready for the upcoming fishing season.

One of the main goals of this meeting is to give anglers the opportunity to learn more about how fisheries management decisions are made. Another goal is to create a connection and open dialog between anglers and the professionals who help maintain the Great Lakes fishery we all love. Bring all the questions you have. The question and answer sessions will be an important part of this meeting.

I would like to pass on a big thankyou to the fishing community that attended the Indiana workshop. And a special thanks to all the presenters, it is greatly appreciated!

This past year there has been alot accomplished. When like minded people come together working on issues/problems sometimes great things can happen.
A special thanks goes to the EC  night stocking team. It is the work that you guys are putting forth that keeps the passion going for us all.
Same shout out to the net pen team. Thanks for the extra time and effort you are putting into this project.
Thanks Captain John Warren for all the time you have invested into the net pen project..
Thanks to the Lake County Fish and Game group for taking on the funding and support to help push the net pen project forward. Thanks for the extra funding to support the Mixsawbah hatchery.
Thanks to Hoosier Coho Club for helping to support the extra needs of the Mixsawbah Hatchery.
Thanks to the Great Lakes Salmon Initiative for all your support
Thanks to Ben, he also has invested many hours into this project with many more to come over the time.
Team work is the driver helping move the ball forward. Indiana's resources are slim, our hatcheries are maxed out, and our passion for this sport is overwhelming.
Here, we have a vested fishing community. Team work is helping supply the fuel to move this fishery forward. Are you on one of those teams?
Many of us live very busy lives anymore. Seems like the 40 -60 hour workweek is common. That doesn't leave much time for some of the extra's. But by joining one of those teams your are still helping to support this fishery that we are all so passionate about!
