Got an early start on the big lake with Big Treble and a few buddies today out of East Chicago. Definitely a little choppy as we headed out around 0500 but calmed down to a beautiful day as it progressed. Ended up trolling along around the hole in the wall with no success. Pulled lines and headed out north of the gong around the state line and started our troll south. Ended up going 6 for at least 12 or so with all fish boated being lakers. 5 of 6 came on Blue Dolphin spoons and mostly on downriggers and 7-color lead. Speed around 2.0 to 2.2. Weather was beautiful, friendships were grown and the fishing was a blast. If the Lake trout fishery is the future for us, so be it, you won't hear me complaining. Had a triple going on at one time that was the highlight of my fishing year so far. Glad to be able to enjoy the this opportunity to be out after almost a month on dry land. Tight lines! Nick

You beat me to it, Nick. Well said.
Only statistic I would like to add is our big one for the day was 13.3# and the triple was caught while 'Purple Rain' randomly played on the radio....good times.

Tight Lines.
Jeremy
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
