Are there any NW Indiana steelheaders on the site? I'm curious to know when the steelheader property on trail became a public access site? I was pleasantly surprised when I drove back there
yesterday and saw that. I used to have permission to fish that property many many years ago before the steelheaders bought it.

They started the donation process a few years ago. DNR legal stuff takes forever normally, and then they had to get some sort of easement hammered out with the city as well. It was just over a year ago that it finally got officially transferred, and then public access staff did some work to clean it up and install a parking lot and signage.
