Late posting for me but better late than never. Myself, Sea Ya, One More Time, and John were fishing out of Locust Point Marina. We normally fish the reefs out in front of the nuclear power plant station located in the Oak Harbor area. This time fishing was a bit tougher there and we moved to the north and west to West Sister Island. Spent several days there and did pretty good. The fish were very nice size but a bit of a slow pick. We had some short fish to deal with and more sheep head than I wanted.
we caught fish on blue/chrome bandits on boards and Scorpion spoons on jet divers and the major producers, scorpion spoons on dipsey divers. We ran 4 of them and next time we go I am going to try 6 or 8 dipsies instead of using boards. NASCAR, NASCAR uv, blue/chrome hammered, Bite Me Elmo,, and Raspberry Dolphin were the spoon patterns we used. Mayflies weren’t a big problem for us out in the deeper water north of the island. I didn’t take a picture of it but I cut the stomach open of a few fish and it looked like a cigar was in their bellies. Just full of bugs.
We had an odd ball situation this trip also. One morning we we got chased out of the reefs by a guy in a boat from Camp Perry. Evidently we had strayed into the actual impact area of the shooting competition. He wasn’t very friendly or helpful. Each one of these trips is an adventure one way or another. We kind ran the gamet again from lost planer boards to train wrecked fishing lines. But it keeps us busy when the bite slows down
I look forward to next year to do it all over again , good Lord willing. Here is a few pictures.

Nice trip...... there's usually always fish to be found around the can line and north around west sister. As you noted- not always one after another, but somewhat steady. And yes the garbage fish move in. I switched from running dipsys to slide diver lite bites so I can trip some of the smaller fish.  I was dragging around shorts on dipsys more often than I wanted
