Use a stone to clean it up and put some shims under it to angle it a bit. If that doesn’t work buy new.

I have a 5” Nil auger. Best auger I ever owned. Had it for 6 years and is as sharp as the first day.

I agree plane to sea I have a 4” as well and drilled many many holes however when I got too shallow I drilled into sand n possibly rock there not horrible but now I have to apply a bit of pressure to get to cut there’s someone in Illinois up in Antioch just figured I’d try n find someone locally b for having to ship my blades away for over a week!! If nothing else I guess I’m going to have to go north

Is that the one with the "cutting head" rather than bolt on blades? Look along the edge very closely for nicks or a rounded cutting edge. You can use a bit of 220 wet/dry paper on a hard backer to hone out the nicks or touch up the edge. If the edge requires significant sharpening or you think it might have gotten bent, you'll want to send it in to be checked. I've seen them razor sharp but with a bent edge and not able to cut at all.

I believe there are only 2 authorized Nils sharpeners in the entire USA

Frank DeLuca in Jentoft MN is who you want to send it in to. Costs 20 bucks plus shipping...so likely about 40 bucks total

his turnaround time is pretty fast. I just sent mine in on a Wednesday and had it back on the following Monday
