Well new to the sight. Sold the bass boat and picked up a Lund 1875 crossover. Looking forward to mixing it up on the lake and get into some early season salmon. After touring the sight it sure seams like you guys are really good about helping each other out. Nice to see.

I'm sure you can bass fish just fine out of that lund , Good call in my book lol, I'm one of those converted bass guys. Still go out every once in awhile and look for a few bass but nothing beats fishing the big lake. welcome to the site

Welcome, I've been aboard for about 9 months now and love this site. I too am an old bass fisherman who grew up in Newton county on the kankakee and fished the slough growing up. Very helpful hints from everyone of setting up my new boat, from guys inviting me to physically come see how their similar boats are set up to selling me extra tackle for cheap to help get me on my feet. I plan on fishing my first ever tournament April 1st to meet the rest of the crew!

Family member gave me some manual Big John down riggers and rods to get started. Spooled them up with 20# mono to get started. I'm hopping to fish this spring and learn the basics and what gear I like, before investing in equipment.

The one thing i did purchase was Sisco down rigger brackets, Dipsy holders and tubes. I didn't feel comfortable with the Lund mounted plastic stuff for salmon. I been down this road with Bass boat set ups and want to do it right once.
