Is there a place to put in at NB, or do you have to boat up or down to it from St. Joe or MC?

Also, how late into the fall will Perch still be around? Nov-Dec? Or are they always potentially there until it freezes?

Thanks!

They have a public launch right in New Buffalo on the Galien River that is a short ride to the lake. I have heard of good fall perch fishing in the past but I can’t comment on late fall salmon/trout fishing there. Always good for coho in spring though

Thank you! Perch is what I'm after. I'll check out Google for the launch site. Tight lines!

Last week the New Buffalo ramp water was covered with Duckweed. Just a heads up. Perch are there but weather this time of year is unstable so It can mess with the fishing opportunities. If there is a big blow that stirs up the water it will take some time to recover like any other time of year. Hopefully there isn’t a blow every 3 or 4 days.

Were hoping to get out and see if them perch are still around, they say they should be but know its up to the weather.
Good ramp at New Buffalo, yes Duck weed is a mess. Attendant usually has an ideal of where there perching.
Not sure how long the attend stays in the fall?
Good luck be safe .

Can’t speak for NB but out of Hammond last year we were getting limits weekly until our last trip January 6th. That particular outing we got a 5 man limit of 11+ inch perch. Weather and wind is key. Sometimes you’ll get a limit Saturday and Sunday all you do is drown minnows. Keep your safety gear on the boat and enjoy!
