My buddy and I headed out of St. Joe yesterday morning to fish for perch and set up in 20 FOW about one mile north of the pier heads. There was a long line of boats that stretched from the pier heads to Rocky Gap. We couldn’t mark any fish inside of 18 FOW on the fishfinder or outside of 23 FOW. So we anchored right in 20 FOW and proceeded to catch perch. We were at it for about 3 hours before we had to stop because we ran out of minnows. We were just a couple fish shy of our 2 man limit. Many of them were a normal size but a handful were very large. We packed up and then headed offshore to troll for silver fish in 100-120 FOW. We marked only a couple of bait balls and never had any strikes. We weren’t out there long—maybe 2 hours. It was boiling hot and there were no fish so we headed back in. Overall, good day on the water. Still waiting for those Skamania to show up in numbers although who knows if that will happen this year. The St. Joe river measured 80 degrees yesterday on our fishfinder and the surface water clear out to 100 FOW was about 73 degrees. Hot.

Great job thank you for the report. The Skamania were in real good around 6/15-7/3. Those 2 weeks were good they are tailing off now. I will be out a few times next week I think some perch fishing will happen for one of those trips.
