Instead of putting my Po-V away at the end of September and focusing on deer hunting (which is increasingly becoming more difficult with suburbia encroaching on my deer ground)….I have always thought I should take advantage of an October/November perch bite.
I tinker around M/C and Portage in the summer but has been long time since I have gotten into a good bite.
My question for future consideration is ramps in Oct/Nov. When fishing Cal Park...do most put in at the ramp at Cal Park? Maybe East Chicago and boat over? Are ramps open until the late fall and into winter? Do they fill up quickly ?
Long story short...where should I put in if fishing Cal Park?
How about license? Do I need an Illinois license on top of my Indiana license ??
Any and all info would be greatly appreciated !!!!

We always launch in Hammond right behind the horse shoe. Nice ramp and it stays open all winter as far as I know. As far as the license your good with a Indiana license all the way up to the first bridge which is 92nd st. It’s all reciprocating water up till that point, you need a Illinois license to fish anywhere up river past 92nd
