Went out of MC (Trail Creek Marina) early yesterday and fished the Black Ditch area for several hours. We caught quite a few fish, lots just under keeper size (6-7 inchers) good to see for the next several years hopefully, also caught a few really small fish (3-5 inchers) and a handful of decent sized fish average 9-10/11 inches. Didn’t limit but each of us caught decent ones so can’t complain about that. Fished mostly 24-35 feet. Caught while spotlocked but seemed to do slightly better drifting. Fish caught on fatheads.

We were out in that area as well.  6:30 -11.  Didn’t see too much action by black ditch but caught quite a few e towards the break wall.  Didn’t limit but kept 25 and a great day on the water.  Breeze early was nice with the warm weather.

We fished 3 days straight outta MC and took 2 man limits all 3 days, however sunday it really slowed up and was a grind to get it done.  Water is warming up fast again and fish seem to be spreading out, but I think they will stick around.  You just gotta move and pick a few off here and there.  Fished both sides of the pierheads, taking fish all the way as far down as long beach.

It really is amazing the amount of water you can cover, and it's all luck on if/where you set down on fish.  One thing I can say to try and not do is just run to the pack of boats and think they are on them: trust your electronics and try to find your own fish...when they are there, they are spread out everywhere.

Good sign: the fish are chocked FULL of minnows.  I assume they are healthy and finding food in close, as I've seen these schools of minnows on the beach while anchored swimming in the summers.
