I gotta find the links for you, but the buoys at Michigan City and Cook Energy are nice real time information for temps, more accurate than the sattelites and they have temperatures at depth. Also there is a site that gives the conditions reports from coast guard for the beaches, I know the acronym is GLERL, they give temps at the river, beach and even a few water intakes, i.e., Michigan City shows the temp at the Coast Gurad Station, Washington Park Beach, and The MC water intake on the bottom in 40fow, can be very very helpful if you're trying to decdie if its worth taking a day off to chase Skamanias in the summer. Check the bottom section of this page.

The other buoys are UGLOS, most are in Michigan, but there was one off MC that got deployed last summer, they are awesome for us without probes or who can't just run out and see if there is a thermocline set up in the summer.
Not sure if this is the link we want, but googling UGLOS and poking around will get you there.

Hey southshore - go ahead and compile all of the links of the exact data you would like to see and I will figure out how to parse it and incorporate it into the site.

I dont want to make any guesses and do a bunch of work and end up with not exactly what you are looking for :)

Right on, I'll do the best I can. I always have trouble copying the links for the buoys and beach temps. I've tried to copy and past the direct link to people many time and when I click on what comes up when I past it just takes me/them to the menu page. Its probably something to do with how the pages are set-up. In any case those real time thermometer in the water sources are great to use in the summer for determining if there is a thermocline or if the lake has "flipped".

This should be a direct link to Mich City water intake temp, and st. joe

www.crh.noaa.gov/product.php?site=grr&product=omr&issuedby=iwx

And this one is a link to the Indiana buoy if and hopefully when it becomes operational this year, it has/had a temp string attached to it down to 50'

www.iiseagrant.org:81/buoydata/index.html

This should be the direct link to the uglos buoy off of the cook nuclear plant between new buffalo and st joe, again, has a temp string down to around 60' and hopefully this will be operational this year as well.

Thanks reelfun - I will take a look into this and get it up there as soon as possible. It may take a little while depending the time I can allocate to it.

Brother Nature had also requested some of the same data so this starts to put it all together for me. Hope to be working on it soon.

I have added the Intake water temps to the "water temps" section.
www.thesouthend.org/index.php/weather/water-temps

How do you want the data from the other buoys presented? Water temp vs depth chain? Anything else you guys need to see?

Im not sure exactly what you mean. As long as its good with everyone else, I'm good. I j ust know those various temp sites, and there's probably a few that I haven't found yet are a big help, especially in the summer. The buoys also have wind and waves which is nice. Thanks for getting it together.
