I am not getting notifications for replies to post and private messages. I looked around for a setting and didn't see anything. any help?

I did just notice that it says "away" under my profile pic. Could that have something to do with it?

OK I had to dig through my old notes and here is the deal.   

At one point in time, I allowed users to subscribe to topics.  There would be a check box.  Two things happened with this:
1)  Users would subscribe, not realize it, get tons of emails, and then report them as spam.  Once the site gets reported for enough spam, its considered a spam site and legitimate registration emails etc. get labeled as spam.
2)  The same as above except people would get angry with me for getting so many emails and then I would have to disable their notifications manually, sometimes at 10-20 different topics at a clip.

At that point I turned off the ability to enable notifications.    If I have enough people that want to try notifications again, I might be persuaded to try it again.  Else I would say just frequent the site adn give it a check.
