SO was on the water a little before 4 AM out of EC. Went to gary light in about 50' of water which was hitting last week and nothing. We started to troll North and we were marking fish but not much happening. after about 2 hours of listening to the super hot action up north on the radio we decided to pull lines and head north some. We found two other boats and set lines again - this was around the portage area. Got one hit on a dippsie but he got loose then we had a hit in run on a down rigger. We trolled that for a while and nothing - not even seeing fish on the graph either.. we decided to head back South some where we had the initial two hits and trolled around for a while (we did not want to go all the way past MC where it sounded like they were hitting good). We were about 5 minutes from pulling lines and going to Laker land just so we wouldnt get skunked (about 10 AM) when we landed our first Coho. Trolled that line back and forth and ended up with 4 in the box and one that hit so hard it snapped 20 # test on the hit (figure it was a steelie). a little before noon it turned back off and we called it a day. Copper spoon on red dodger was the hot mix for us today. We were between the portage and west beach in about 60 FOW.

Nice job Ed. Glad you had some action. If you would have gone a few more miles north, you would have been in the hot spot today!
