It's been a LOOOONG dry spell for me between a new job and a couple surgeries for my wife it's been over a year since I've been able to make the trek up from Brownsburg. I finally have an opportunity to come up with my brother-in-law this weekend. In reading recent posts it looks like most of you have packed it up for the year. Is there any reason for me to come up or should I just find a few fishing holes closer to home. I'd love to come up for one a last trip myself as long as I'm not wasting our time. Either the big fish or perch would be ok with us.

If we can get some good calm weather the Perch could set up. Problem is this time of year the wind blows on a regular basis. As for Salmon I have never done well this time of year but I have heard of guys doing some good offshore. Not many if any guys out so I get Leary of trying with no potential assistance out there. I like fishing inland lakes for Bluegill and Crappiethis time of year. If the weather cooperates I'll go after Perch.

Lakers will show up in mass on and near the reef at the port over the next few weeks. I've had luck with steelies at the mouth of the ditch and MC this time of year too. The perch will school up at some point, I usually start looking for them around Halloween. Once it gets really cold the browns will be around any warmer water you can find. It's harder to plan ahead but generally late season fishing is awesome when you can get out.

As everybody noted - its all about the weather. If you can get up when the wind is not blowing, you can find fish somewhere. Right now your best bet is still offshore.
