Frank: Posting this here since the answer will be of interest to many.

I saw your post saying you launched at Whiting over the weekend. I used to launch there frequently and even run charters out of Whihala. Then it got so silted in and the lake so low nothing but waverunners could use the launch there.

What's it like now? I know it's darned close to Hammond and not as easy to find, but it would be nice to have it available as a back up plan.

Any recent news of the East Chicago boondoggle for trailer-boaters?
