The two of us made it over to Gary light by 8:30 AM. Put out the typical spread everybody is using. No one bait was better than the other , half the fish on spoons the other half on body baits .Best action was north to south troll in-line with the lighthouse. Rudey

Man, seeing all these posts is torture. I wanted to drive over yesterday but couldn't. I'm hoping the weather is good this weekend. It'll be my first weekend off this month, which means weather will be crap. Anyway, it seems a lot of these reports are from guys going out near Gary. I haven't seen too many posts from anybody fishing farther east toward Michigan City. Admittedly, I'm not experienced in the coho game just yet, so this time of year, does most of the action happen to the west? I'm coming from Fort Wayne and don't mind driving farther west if that's where the fish are. But I'd be remiss if I didn't wonder if anything is happening on the southeast end.

It all depends, many times east can be very good too. Gary is probably the most consistent area generally speaking.

Thank you for the reply. Is there a particular launch folks use to go to the Gary Light area? The farthest west launch I've gone out from is Portage.

Portage is your best option now with Pastrick closed for the next few months.

Portage is your best bet. From the mouth of the ditch to gary is a 7 mile ride.
