Fished out of Portage yesterday morning. Whew! Cold.... Ice on lines and rods for the first hour or so. Steady action. Had one real nice flurry, of course that was when Plane to Sea and I were on collision course. Sorry about that. No harm, no foul, no fish lost!

Last fish was either a pink or pinook (hybrid pink/king). Not sure which only that it wasn't a king or coho. Looked pretty much like a 15 inch chinook, dark fish, black mouth, purple irridescense, distinct tail spots but definitely not a chinooky-looky anal fin. Didn't think to take a photo.

Usual baits and presentations worked.

That's ok Mike. I am sure I will return the favor one day! It was close. He will turn, he will turn, he will turn. Oh shit!!! Closest I have ever been to a boat on open water. It was almost as exciting as catching a 4 man limit in 2 1/2 hrs. Coho's are hot at the moment and I expect them to be just as hot for the Coho Cabin Fever tournament on April 1st. Just one week away. I hope we have a big turnout, just keep a eye out for Brother Nature!!! LOL

I think we have all gotten carried away with our auto piolets. Be careful out there particulary near shore when there are a lot of boats out there.

Too bad for no pictures. I would have liked to have seen that.

That was the problem. I was just finishing a turn when the fish interrupted and I thought I hit the AUTO button before I left the helm. Either I didn't or just hit it a glancing blow - like typing in the cracks. I do that all the time.
