I guess if something like this had to happen. I am so glad the trasom or the front side wall of the boat did not take the impact. If that were the cast I would be stuck with a boat that I would not trust on the big lake.

I won't ever mention I can see the patch after it's fixed either.

I will have my new rig in 10 or 12 days. I am already nervous about just this kind of crap. I swear I would try my best to field dress the person with a dull broadhead that would hit and run my new one and I find out about it.

Congrats on the new rig don. Those boats look like floating tanks. It is nerve racking but don't let that stop you from going out. The last 3 years I've had anywhere from 25 to 35 trips out. This is the first time I've had and issue I've never even had a close call. The first time I leave my boat unattended this happens. If I had stayed with the boat could the accident have been avoided. Honestly I think yes I could have helped the guy out I could have moved my boat out of the way. While if I was there the chances he runs is much less too. If He did I would have had the info to hang him. Lesson learned never leave you your boat unattended even for a short period of time.

Update

I could not be happier with my insurance company so far. I was able to take the boat whereever I wanted without getting multiple estimates. They never even came to look at the damage just asked for a few pictures. Today they approved the repair and will be sending me a check minus my deductible. All I have to say is WOW you don't want to bust up one of these boats with metal flake gel coats.

It's going to take at least a month to get the parts then once I take it in as long as it does not sit in a parking lot I would think 2 weeks. But I have been told using it will not cause any further damage. So I will be fishing until then.
