I have yet to catch a lake trout out of portage and was wondering if there are "goto" set ups to help put one in the boat. We caught 4 or 5 last year fishing for kings in waukegan on flashers and flys. i have tried cowbells and trash can dodger with a spinnie tied on. Are there certain spoons or other set up you guys use when other fishing is slow?

Sounds like you have the right tackle, just put in on the bottom in at least 80 feet of water. You will not be in Indiana anymore.
Keep the speed slow.
