Got up at 0'Dark 30 this morning to troll the pierheads at St. Joe

Half of chicago's sailboats were arriving in the dark, it was absolute chaos. Guess there's a regatta tomorrow or something. Many of them without running lights, had no clue how to interact with anglers, etc

Got one nice 14 pound king with a J plug on a rigger. Got tired of dodging sailboats for minimal action and headed offshore. Couldn't get too much going, just one bite, a small king on a carmel dolphin free slider

Lots of cold water out there. Most boats we talked to had no or 1 fish, a couple had two. Lots of big drum around the pierheads too

right in front of the south pier, probably 26 or 28 feet depth, on a rigger down 18
