Finally the first trips fishing on the new boat this weekend as we fished the last lag in the Hoosier Coho Club's Championship Series. This one was 3 days derby style, but unfortunately we could not get out today due to family plans etc. We had a great crew of Tim (Tmik34), Bill (Angry Pirate), Tony (Cruise), Phil (horsefly24), and Mitch over the course of two days but the fishing was tough.

We started out Saturday trolling near the ditch early. We went 1 for 2 with a 5lb Coho being the first fish to hit the deck of the new boat. We then went offshore to 100 FOW in search of lake trout. We found nothing but nursery fish. Sunday we retooled and ran to north of New Buffalo and started in 85 FOW and ran deeper. We had 45 degree water down 50 or so. Bite was still tough but managed two 15 pound lakers and another 11 pounder. 300 and 250 Coppers did all the heavy lifting. All we needed was one more silver fish to weigh as the tournament max is 3 lakers. So we weighed 4 fish only. Hindsight, we probably should have beat the ditch or near MI City a little harder. Final weigh in is today in MI City.

I didnt take but one picture - hopefully some of the other guys did lol.

I sure did not take any pics jeff. Fishing was very tough but it was a fun weekend for sure. I'm curious to see what other guys weigh in today.

Stopped by weigh-in Mon. afternoon, only 3 teams weighed, sounded like terribly slow salmon fishing.
Underdog (Josh Wilson) won with 68 pounds (2 kings, 3 lake trout), which included a 17 lb chinook.
Biggest fish of weekend was a 19-plus king aboard Osprey.

Thanks for the update - hoping craig will post up the results. We weighed 45 pounds or so on 4 fish. Too bad we couldnt get a King on the deck.
