Not being overly picky but I'm positive the fish on the left of the top picture is a coho and I highly suspect the other is too. The give away is the anal fin. On coho the AF is almost an equilateral triangle (fish on the left). Can't see the other well enough but it too looks very triangular. On kings the AF is decidedly NOT equilateral. But you do have some prize winning cohos! Way to go.....!

I'd have them mounted if they were cohos. I'm just going off the black jaws.

1 is def a king. Spots on top and bottom of tail and mouth. 1 might be a coho that didnt spawn last yr.

Yeah i see it in the meat. Excuse my butchering but the bigger one definitely seems coho colored.
Bet that would have been a nice bonus in the tournament at 13 lbs.

Fish ID between cohos and Kings in the spring can sometimes be difficult. One of your fish I can tell by the pictures is a king. The other fish I can’t tell by the pics. The mouth is a good indicator but in the spring with the cold water there colors can be faded. One good way to tell them apart is dots on the tail coho only have dots on the top portion of the tail. Kings have dots on the top and bottom. But at times they can be very faint on the bottom. The best way to tell for sure is to count the individual anal fins of the fish.

If you come along a fish with 15 anal fins it gets more difficult bc it still can be one or the other. Then I examine the tail very closely then look at the gums of the fish to make a decision. There are 4 year old cohos out there and they will be as big as spring Kings. But they are far and few between. Hope this helps everyone a little.

The one is definitely a king, can't get a good read on the other from the picture. From the second picture I am leaning towards coho for the second one. Nice coho for down here this early and nice to see a few Kings showing up.
