Well, I gave it a shot in st.joe this morning. Was on the water at 5, the rain started at about 5:45. Heading back now, got three Lakers, and lost a seriously good king on a Dipsy set at 85. Bent that Dipsy Rod over like I haven't seen in a long time , almost folded it in half LOL. He gone... There's a fish out there with my Dipsy, snubber , and my favorite moonshine RV Wonder Bread. LOL. the wind is really cranking now. It went from 1 to 2.to 3 to 5 in about 20 minutes right around 8:30. I'm done in my 16-footer LOL

Neat report. 16 footer?? Kind of like living on the edge of fun and danger. 2 or 3 more feet of boat would be nice for this type of fishing.

St Joe took some of my gear last year - pole and all. Not sure how you set up your rigs but I have gone with progressively higher test line as I go up. Like lure to snubber 20 lbs test then 50 lbs or heavier from pole to dipsy (for the non-wire ones). It saves me from loosing all my gear.

Yeah, used to have a 22' cc Aquasport. I'm probably going to get a 21' walk around soon, but my little boat tows like it's not even there and uses next to no gas. I go solo a lot, so an auto pilot would be nice.

Kudos to you those were some rough conditions. I got down to the boat this morning, talked to capt Todd who runs gold coast charters. He cancelled after our talk and my crew and I drove back home. Was back at home before anyone was even awake lol.

Yeah Ed, that dipsey was on 40lb power pro braid, it must have had a knick in it or something like that, it's usually is really hard to break off. That fish was seriously screaming off line, so like a moron I pit my thumb to him yo slow him down.....buh bye!!!! He wasn't cool with going for a ride on my little boat lol.

I did see a couple charter guys heading out as I came in. I didn't get a bump until I was in 85' even though there was bait and fish marking all the way out from the piers. I hit a good pocket of fish in 85 to 90 310° out from the river. Maybe next week...of course it'll be perfect conditions tomorrow till Friday, then take a crap again lol
