We fished in the coho club derby tournament. I was forced to fish the east side of the lake in unfamiliar water since the west side of the lake was far to rough to fish safely. We worked a couple areas on Saturday in the 90 to 130 foot range. We caught maybe 10 lake trout biggest was 13lbs ish the rest were in the 6 to 9 lbs class. Feeling behind in the tournament I launched out of portage on Sunday and made a long run up to the north side of Chicago working 115 to 130 fow. We caught a lot more fish and better quality fish. There was allso some nice steelhead in the area too. We were able to pull big enough fish to place 3rd. All I needed was a bell ringer fish and we would have won but I was not given the opportunity this time. Sorry guys no pictures on this trip. Not sure why I didn’t take any but I didn’t.
