Hey guys. Apologies if I'm in the wrong thread here, but I am looking for a used 17 or 18ft walleye boat. Something that I can travel with easily (up to Canada), but that can also handle Lake Michigan waves. Let me know if you or anyone you know is looking to upgrade!!

Thanks,
Nate

What are you REALLY looking for?

I ask because I grew up in Northern MN and a "Walleye Boat" was a 16'-18' fully open aluminum hull with bench seats and a tiller drive outboard. I ended up buying my current boat (16' Alumacraft) off of Craig's List from a guy in Rice Lake, MN while we were up there for a family event. Got an amazing price. I've fished with it on Lake Michigan numerous times, some when I shouldn't have, but it's an awesome boat. Pulls behind our mini van easily.

WillBill shared a link to what many folks consider a walleye boat as well and as the ad shows, you'll pay for it.

All that to say, I'd recommend searching Craig's List in the high fishing areas before your next trip to Canada and stop on the way home to look at a few. Be ready to grab the one you want. You'll find some great deals in Northern MN, WI, and MI where the market is flooded with good used boats.

My $0.02.

I checked with Bill to see if he's had an sniffs. (It's on Craigslist in Chicago). No sniffs. He's thinking it's overpriced. So call him and be prepared to dicker. I think there's some wiggle room.
