Like several others, I took a mental health day from work an decided to get the hooks wet. Launched from EC around 7am. I was taking my time and rigging some tackle while making my way East. About 1 mile north of Buffington I marked a large bait ball and bunch of fish. Decided to drop the lines. Trolled for about 2 hours without a single bite. I was marking fish the entire time but nothing was biting. Tried spoons, thinfins and flies with no luck. My uncle then showed up on his boat and we decided to head to Gary. Once we got there, the planer board army was already making laps but it didn't seem like anyone was catching anything. We moved in towards the wall and dropped anchor to do some casting. For about 40 minutes there was nothing. There were four boats within a 100 yard radius casting. Only saw 1 fish caught. Around ten oclock I had my first hit and was limited out by eleven. 6 hits, 5 boated. All caught on a pumpkin ned rig on light tackle, 10lb test braid in the lower half of the water column.
