Tough tournament day for us. Started out of N.B. and was originally going to run to around the 100 FOW mark and head deeper but there were about 10 boats or so in the 70 FOW so we setup there. after about 30 minutes we were the only ones within eyesight as it seems all the others pulled lines and headed out deep. We were marking fish and lots of bait but not a lot of action. Had a Dipsy go off but didn't hear it right away and by the time the wife noticed and I grabbed the pole - it was gone. Got a 3 something pound Coho finally which gave us a little hope. We were seeing fish come up to look at our lures but they were not biting. As I was resetting one of my riggers, the dipsy right next to me started to scream. I grabbed the pole and it was game on. Took me at least 10 minutes to get the fish to the boat but it was a beauty; ended up being a 17.5 lbs king. Might be the record for me but close to one of my last year kings. Spend the rest of the day trying to get another fish but no such luck. Lots of bait and lots of fish but I think they just have plenty to eat right now with all the bait, so if your setup is not perfectly what they want, they look and swim away. From a tourney standpoint not a great day but personally it was a pretty great day.

Really nice king Ed. What was the dipsey pulling along when the king hit?
My Searunner 190, "Four "D's" and a "C". Retirement money well spent.

Sorry forgot details. Wire diver on #2 setting, 70 feet back with a Mt Dew Spin Doctor and an aqua/green fly in 105 FOW.
