TOPIC:

Fished the HCC Champ Series #3 this weekend. Saturday there was no fish inshore. Went offshore to find lakers and hopefully some bonus fish. Ended up with a nice 11lb steelhead and a bunch of lake trout. There were alot of crazy currents going on offshore in 100-120 FOW. We had some of the most horrendous tangles I have ever seen lol. Adding insult to injury the fishawk was on the fritz giving us erratic readings high and low I was being lied to haha. We really struggled to get our speeds right thus struggled getting bit. Had a heck of a fun day, including a bat dive bombing us offshore and then getting into the boat and disappearing. We could not find him. He eventually popped out in the cockpit at 8pm in the marina when I was talking to my wife - scarred the hell out of me!!

Sunday we were on the lake in high winds for an hour or so before storms rolled in., We were back at the dock by 7:30am so accomplished nothing.

There are a few kings being caught offshore - nothing inshore yet that I am aware of.

The bat story is good! We had the same thi g happen to us a few weeks ago up at pentwater! The bat showed up and the fish quit biting found him later in the day tearing down

Steve, Alvin, and Tony did ok with the bat. I however was freaked out. I tried to shoot it with the wash down pump and ended up shooting Alvin in the face. I was very disturbed knowing I would be sleeping on the boat that night, not knowing where that damn bat was lol.
