With these cooler temperatures near shore is it even worth trying to target staging Kings?

I'm switching to nearshore tactics this week. Temps don't matter as much as timing. I've caught fall kings in 82 degree water. Cooler is better, but not vital.

Hey Guy's
I have not fished the fall salmon season before.
Any advice on how to tool up for the pre-run stack up.

Went out last night for a few hours in the evening and went 1 for 2....a nice hen filled with eggs.
Our set up was aimed at Kings on the port side and steelhead starboard
She came on an orange/copper NBK (magnum), 5 color, 45- 50' depth, SOG 2.4
For what is is worth the water temps were 54 around the port and 58 going west towards Miller Beach
The one we lost hit the same spoon.

Seeing some decent coolers of kings come out of St Joe, and there are a few coho and kings up Trail Creek already, so I would definitely get out there and give it a shot, weather permitting
