Any kings coho or steelhead being caught out of postage ? Got two new dipsey rods all set up ready to go dying to try out. It will be the first time out fishing dipseys deep any help would be greatly appreciated

Last night (9/10) we trolled out from the entrance, over to Burns Harbor entrance, out to 55' and back in to Portage. No action at all on the way out, but lots of bait showed up straight out from the Portage. We had something big on a chartreuse rapala on four colors that fought hard for 10 minutes and then got bored with us and headed north. Couldn't turn it back around for anything and it broke off at the leader.

We also brought in two dragger Kings (5" and 6") on spoons when we pulled lines. One was really frisky, the other was fully drowned.

Steelhead were hitting jointed rapalas 100' back last Sunday afternoon between Portage and Burns Harbor breakwall.

The are some fish around Portage. Pulled this big girl out yesterday evening.

Dats a lot of spawn sacs... jealous

Speaking of spawn sacs does lake trout spawn work well for fishing.

Never tried it. But i can guarantee that the whitefish and trout that come inshore in the late fall are eating laker eggs. Ive also found them in perch during that time frame.

Is there much of a whitefish fishery on the south end? Something that sounds like fun to do in the cold.

Is anyone eating the whitefish caught down on this end of the lake?
