Fishing with my friend Gene on his rig, it wasn't as crazy action as we had on Monday (4/6), but it took us until just after noon to finish a three-man ticket of cohos near Gary Light. We went 18-for-22 on cohos with three throwbacks (undersize) and had a big laker come undone with the net in his face. The laker fight was interesting. It smashed the spoon on a downrigger and had us thinking a king was on. When he surfaced and we saw what it was, we saw there was also a coho on the line as it hit the slider. It took me a bit to get them in. The coho made it on the boat. The laker lived to tell his friends about it.

We started setting up about a half mile east of the wall where on Monday we had fish hitting as we let lines out. The plan was to troll to the wall, go past the hole then circle a few times as we did with success Monday. This time we got nothing, so we continued over to the harbor and made it out to the lighthouse before we picked up our first fish. After a couple passes and no more action, we decided to try to get away from some of the many boats and go to the west side of the lighthouse breakwall. The action heated right up. After several passes, we had 11 in the box, and a bunch of boats moving in. So, for the rest of the time, we moved farther out from the lighthouse and picked at them with a double to finish up.

Fish hit on pretty much everything we had out, but they really wanted the golds and yellows on the Brad's Thin Fish. Numerous fish hit a gold/red back and a yellow tiger. A couple came on the red/black squiggles. We picked up a couple on a mini dipsy with orange flasher and a purple fly. The hot spoon were a custom with green and orange. Our speed was 2.6 to 2.8. Aside from the small throwbacks, the fish had more size than we caught Monday, including two that pushed four pounds. I didn't weigh them, so that's a guess. Anyway, I had a great time.
