Got out with Steve (Plane To Sea) this morning for a few hours. Went 3 for 6 on Kings, a ton of Lakers, and a lone coho. All the King hits came on 5-7 color LC. Hits came on reg's and mag's. No specific pattern to report on. Fun day - nice to get the rust off! Big King went 23.28 lbs. Notice the rigger rod popped while we were dicking around taking pictures

Nice job on the kings guys! Funny seeing the rigger popped in the background. That’s my excuse for not taking more pics.

Thanks for the report.....what depth of water are you fishing if you don't mind me asking? Planning on a trip up Wednesday if the forecast holds. Looks like a great day!!

Good talking to you out there. I did a solo run in my little Alumacraft and started trolling from 35' out front of Portage headed for the Port. Hit three big lakers on the way that were released at the back of the boat. First Coho was a 20" chunk about halfway between the Portage light and the Port wall. I decided to run North along the West wall and hit MASSIVE clouds of bait. There were a few spots where my sonar went pure blue/orange for a few hundred feet.

I had two freight trains tear my gear apart and lost the fish before I could even get to the rod. Replaced the leader on that rod and softened the drag up to almost free spinning and soon had things working smoothly. Within an hour of getting to the breakwall, my cooler was full with three kings (2-#, 16#, and 8#) as well as a pair of Coho. I had forgotten my landing net at home, so I lost a couple Coho at the boat, but was very careful to wear the Kings out so I could grab them. The big fish all came on the downrigger with a UV green dolphin at 25'. Depth from 30' to 45'. The small king hit a red thin fin on two colors LC and both Coho on red dodger and blue black peanut fly on four color LC.

We fished mostly 45-55 FOW with baits down 20-30’ being the best.

Great job. All these reports are killing me. I was supposed to be in Arkansas this week killing the crappie and Stripers but Covid ruined that. I am hoping to get out Wednesday if the weather holds but I am afraid with the blow that is coming in tonight that all the kings will be gone but hopefully some nice fat coho's will still be in town. Although with my luck the last week, I will be lucky to even catch one fish (or even get out).
