Finally was able to get the boat in the water for a shakedown cruise and some long awaited fishing. I was accompanied by my wife and daughter. From reading the recent reports after the big blow I wasn't too optimistic but just had to get out. Talked to three guys at the ramp- 2 shunks and one guy had a steelie and a coho.
Water was very chalky, I decided to run out to Cal park area and try the breakwall out there. Started setting lines inside breakwall . Now that i had 3 in the boat I was able to set out 8 lines . Ran 6 boards, 1/2o weight -4 dodger flys, 2 blue/carmel, 2 green/ carmel and one red/ blk thin fish and one firetiger flicker shad. Also had 2 dipsys down around 27 ft running spoons.
Went from inside wall through port mouth north to even with the east wreck, trolled over wreck down to breakwall and worked the outside of it. About 4 or so hours, grand total- went one for one lol, hey it wasn't a skunk. Small March sized coho on green/carmel fly, coho barely hit 17 inches.
Great thing is the boat performed flawlessly, no gremlins. Glad to see the off season additions of the dual pro dual battery gauge and the Uncle Norms bow mount motor fin perform well. New prop put out the numbers i wanted, and of course i was out on the lake with family so in that aspect it was a win.

Looks like a nice spread. I am sure it will pay off down the road. I will take a smooth shake down run over a some fish anytime. I remember having an overheating issue and limping back to port one spring- I could have cared less if we filled the box all I was thinking about is how long it would take to get fixed.

Very true statement Regulator, fingers always crossed going into the first launch of the year. Really bummed that i missed the April coho mania that I had last year at Pastrick. Now I have some new challenges as I figure how to run a dipsey /downrigger spread. This will be my first year going after the bigger kings ,lakers and steelies. Last year was my first ever going after salmon , with the coho.
I must say I do like being out there and this site is an invaluable source of info . So much to learn but I enjoy learning new stuff about this fishery every day.
