Yes, although most kings now don't have a tag - just the clip. There's a few that still have the tags, but most of the tags are now going to steelhead

All stocked lake trout are adipose clipped and coded wire tags, plus steelhead starting in 2018 adipose clipped and coded wire tag

Was told the kings stocked this year were not clipped. Is this correct?

That is what I understand John. Not sure about Wisconsin but Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan no clips.

I thought they were all clipped still but no wire tags anymore.

I thought they were all clipped still but no wire tags anymore.

From Michigan's 2020 spring advisory meeting
COVID - 19 Impacts
• Egg takes – no walleye, muskellunge, or steelhead • Consider use of equivalents for 2021
• Fish Stocking
• Steelhead, Coho salmon, and brown trout done – CONSOLIDATED
Chinooks direct stocked in late April and early May.
• Lake trout stocked nearshore
• Assessments
• Creel and lake netting assessments are on hold (all states and Feds)
• Mass Marking – Chinook salmon were not clipped (index and lake movement)
• Sea Lamprey Control – TFM treatments and trapping delayed
