I was on the water at 630am and had high hopes for the day but they were dashed pretty quickly. There were tons of pier fishermen and more boats than I have seen there in the last two years and I only saw one steelhead caught about 9am by a kayaker in the middle of the harbor. he was using a thin fin in a clown color. I caught a 12# gaspergoo that was a pretty good time and I had a couple of short strikes but no steelhead. I have had some friends that has take limits at MC this past week and others that have had the same luck as I had. I think the the best bet is to go every chance you get and sooner or later you're bound to hit a good wave of fish.
P.S. There are good numbers of fish in the creek.
