Northwoods and I decided to get out to the lake today. When we arrived at the portage , Brother Nature was the only other rig in the lot. We got out of the ditch and found out why. Were the hell did these 3's and 4's come from!! We trudged on out into Michigan waters - took us and hour and a half. We fished anywhere from 70-110.

Finished the day 9 for 13. 4 Coho, 2 Lakers, 2 Kings, and a steelhead. Monkey Puke was the leading vote getter by a good margin, 2 on FF, and the biggest king on a bloody nose. 2.7 was the best speed. Boat control was very difficult, especially with my boat. We are have a hard time walking on stable land now lol :S

Both Kings were naturals.

Way to go and catch a nice box of fish. Looks like smooth water this weekend. Maybe a repeat performance?? Rough water and a 2 man crew makes for a tough day. Which monkey pattern took your fish? Or should I say color? I have fished 3 or 4 monkey spoons and have yet catch a fish on them. I know Bob uses them and catches some fish on his. Do you think one brand of spoon is more productive than others? Maybe it is just one of those confidence things where you use monkey patterns more than other spoons in your box. I know I have a couple of favorites I use probably longer than I should because they worked in the past.

Michigan Stinger Don - Pic below. I really dont think any spoon mfg is better than another, I think it all comes down to day, the fish, your confidence. I use a Moonshines ALOT. Probably more than I should because I have confidence in them. Today I started with 2 and they were off my rods early. I decided to get out of my own box a bit and try some interesting patterns. Some payed off.
