TOPIC:

Set  lines about 3:30 PM as soon as I cleared the harbor. Headed SW towards Michigan City. Flat lake- set out 2 flatline rods and a rigger down 18 ft. with dodger/ fly combo and free slider spoon. Caught a nice Coho on  the slider in about 30 feet of water on the slider. Next came a Laker @10 lbs that I  released - again on the slider. About 4 miles Southwest I found a big bait school that took about 10 seconds to troll over. Pulled flatline and set another rigger down 28 ft with a free slider and spoons on both. Hit another Coho on the slider. Kept circling the bait and had another release on the slider! This was a serious King and it almost spooled a Daiwa 27H. I turned and chased it but it would not stop. I could see the post on the spool when it finally came off. Reeled it back in and put it back out. It  released within a minute - slider again with another big King. It was an epic battle but I  won this time and put a 38 incher in the box - too big for my scales. My arms were jelly! Set the rod up again and hit King #3 - a nice easy 9 pound fish. One more King on the same setup about 12 pounds. I ended up keeping 3 Kings and 2 Coho. I released a  laker and skaker. Pretty good solo trip for a Monday! All of the fish but 2 came on this spoon free sliding over a rigger down 28 ft. I found the fish in 35 to 45 feet of water.

Great fish Great night to fish ! I live in three oaks next time your a solo let me know I'm retired can fish anytime my boat sat in the driveway last night didn't want to try a solo trip
