TOPIC:

Fished the 3rd leg of the HCC club tournaments yesterday with Alvin (Kingme), one of my clients and his father, and a coworker, as real life has decimated my crew lol.  We probably had one of the top 5 days of LM fishing ever for us - it was great, at least early.  We went straight north out of portage and fished in the 8-9's all day.  We started in 85 FOW but settled in at 120-140.  We boated 35 fish.  18 of which were silver.  Released alot of small lake trout.  It was a day to remember with 3 triples and one quadruple.  Everyone was busy and their virgin arms were burning .  We were probably 70% spoon spread, FF and meat rigs took fish as well.  Thermocline was down 55-60 and we ran as many deep rods as we had.  With that being said, our biggest lake trout at just over 15 pounds hit a spoon on a 5 color and was way out of temp, so go figure.

As good as it was, it was only good enough for third place.  Probably the most competitive club tournament we have had so far, as there were 4 boats within 3 pounds.  Alot of fun!
