Day off, so I managed to fill two of three seats grabbing Jan Jan (sister-in-law) and off we went fishing. Winds were strong southwest\west so we tried launching Hammond. Got near Indiana Harbor waves not troll-able. Loaded the boat headed to East Chicago. Launched and of course the wall blocked out that strong southwest\west wind perfect. Started at bend heading north along the wall. Hit two before hole in the wall. Both on brads. Worked to end and turned around, swells. Back south to hole in the wall then headed southeast picking up three more half mile from wall (all on brads). Turned southwest heading toward Marina picked up nice one. Six in the well all coho, called it a day. Didn't see any other boats out while we were catching. Great day in East Chicago. Previous trips didn't produce as well. Glad to have a great day in EC area, so close to home.

Tried orange dodger\red peanut, caramel dolphin spoon no takers.

At EC launch Maggie from DNR fish surveyor informed me that yesterday Indiana DNR released 75,000 king salmon fingerlings at East Chicago. She asked if we saw any floaters, we did not. Hope many many make it
