Got caught in some traffic on the way to portage, so we didn't get lines in the water until 7:15am.  Beautiful morning, even got visited by the DNR checking equipment and fish.  Started in 65' of water south of the state line, and trolled north to the state line and started an east/west pattern.  Was slow but at least steady, fished until 11:15 and ended 5/6, all Coho, biggest at 6lbs, smallest at 4.5.  One we lost was boat side when it got tangled in the downrigger cable. Zero discernable pattern, we were running 8 rods, and 6 different ones took hits.  3 hit trolling east, 3 hit trolling west.

Indiana DNR, they pulled up right alongside just south of the state line, they were checking everyone. I chatted with them at the fuel dock for a second time when they were refueling at Marina Shores, said they checked 29 boats total. It was free fishing weekend, they were checking rod counts, life jackets, horns, and asking how we were doing.  I guess a lot of people abuse free fishing weekend.

Thanks for the report, Joe.  Interesting about the DNR.  I have never seen them offshore - good to hear they are making sure boats are on the up and up.

Thanks for the report.  A family member got out Saturday and went 8/9 all coho with a laker in the same state line area.
